Contentious Private Client
Our private client lawyers regularly act with our dispute resolution team to provide a seamless service to those who are either contesting the relative lack of provision made for them under a Will or by way of defending a Will against such claims.
These claims will involve highly emotive matters such as disputes concerning the validity of Wills, actions involving Trustees/Executors and claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975, and are often the culmination of very strained relationships amongst families.
We approach such matters with meeting the client’s needs in a cost-effective manner, and are not afraid to advise against progressing a matter if it is not in the client’s best interests or the result is likely to be gained at too high a price for it to be advisable to proceed.
We will also act in making or opposing applications at the Court of Protection for the appointment or removal of an Attorney or a Deputy for an incapacitated person.
