Buss Murton Law awarded Working to Become Dementia Friendly recognition symbol
Buss Murton Law are pleased to have been recognised as a “Working to Become Dementia Friendly” organisation by the Kent Dementia Action Alliance for 2025-2026. The symbol demonstrates the firm’s dedication to being a dementia-friendly environment, and that a person living with dementia can expect understanding, respect and support when navigating legal issues.
Part of the firm’s commitment to a dementia-friendly experience for our clients has involved members of all levels of staff, from front-of house to the Directors, attending a Dementia Friends Information Session. Trainee Legal Executive Amy Turner-Ives is a Dementia Friends Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society and has received specialist training to enable her to deliver these sessions both within the workplace and in public. At the time of writing this article, over 80% of staff have attended a session so as to develop a wider awareness of what it is like to live with dementia and the small actions that we can all take to make a difference to those affected by the condition.
Amy is a keen advocate for improving the lives of those living with dementia, having both personal and professional experience in this regard. “Being a lawyer within the private client team means that we often meet with people who may be at the beginning of their dementia journey and are looking to formalise their legal affairs, or with their relatives who require assistance when their loved ones have not been able to resolve their legal affairs before any incapacity takes hold. An increased understanding of the disease and how dementia may affect a person can only assist both in our professional capacity and day-to-day lives. I am delighted that the firm are supporting this initiative”.
